Factal exists because most AI tools optimize for sounding right, not being right. We built a platform where the AI's job is to understand your question, and your real data does the rest of the work.
Why We Built This
Before Factal, I was a full-stack developer at Gaia AI, an MIT and Harvard startup using LiDAR, computer vision, and satellite data to help forestry companies understand the carbon stock and timber content of their land. I built dashboards to visualize forest health and tree data for those companies.
And every single time someone at the company had a new question about the data, I had to build a new dashboard from scratch. A new question meant new development work, every time.
That felt extremely inefficient. Factal is the answer to that problem, a platform where you can connect your data sources and just ask, without waiting for someone to build you a new view every time.
How We Think About AI
At Factal, we don't think a confident-sounding answer is the same as a correct one. That's why Factal uses AI to understand your question, not to invent your numbers the math always comes from your real data, through a process you can see and check for yourself.
